There's a transition between infancy and toddlerhood. Sometimes it comes slowly and you hardly notice it. Other times it comes so fast, that you wonder where your baby went!? Mason has been slower at doing new things than Blake and Marlie were, so it seemed like the transition was going slowly. This week Mason decided that he had enough of the baby business and he was going to be a toddler NOW!
He started the week off by walking...everywhere!! Up until this week, Mason has been taking a few steps here and there. When he would fall, he'd be content to continue on his journey by crawling. But not this week, it's big boy week!! So now he is walking everywhere! He can bend over and pick things up without falling and can even change directions :0)
The middle of big boy week came with Mason's first haircut. He wore most of his hair off between 4 and 6 months, everything except for the very top. I thought it looked cute, but Daddy insisted it was time for a buzz job, to even everything out. Mason actually giggled at first and thought it was funny when JP cut his hair. He loves power tools, so when JP let him hold the clippers, Mason was all smiles. Too bad a hair cut takes longer than 2 minutes, which is about the length of his attention span!
One last photo of the baby hair
Your 2 minutes are up!!
All done. Now he looks so much older!
Toward the end of the week, Mason discovered a new found love for coloring! Yes, my 14 1/2 month old colors. He holds the marker in his hand and scribbles to his hearts content. Unfortunately, he now knows what a marker is, so can you guess what happened today?? He colored all over his face and hands with a yellow marker that Marlie dropped. Can we say Mason Marker?
We finished out bye bye baby week with a bath in the sink. He is now officially too old for the sink! He splashed so much, that I had to mop up the floor with beach towels. Marlie thought it was hilarious, until she got all wet!
So the transition from baby to toddler that I thought was going to be nice and slow, is now here. It's not nice and slow at all, it's too fast. But don't Mason that, he has places to go and people to see ;-)

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Your little guy is SO cute! My daughter is about his age and started really walking within the last month. What a fun stage.
By the way, I LOVE KAREN. :) She's lots of fun and has been a special encouragement to me since, as of sometime in mid-May, I will be the mother of three children under the age of three. She knows all about having lots of little ones!
Have a great day. :)
