Craft Camp Recap

So craft camp came and went. Day 1 was awesome. Day 2 -5 were fantastic, but I was so tired! There was no way I was blogging about it, LOL! The girls and I had so much fun.

Days 2-5 we made rock necklaces, tie-dye shirts, yarn octopi, sewed purses, and doll quilts, and cooked monkey bread.

They moved so quickly through the sewing projects that I had to create another! Wednesday-Friday they made doll quilts. I was so pleased with how quickly they learned to handle the swing machines, and to sew straight stitches. The downside to adding another sewing project was that we didn't get to cook W-F. We were so busy trying to finish sewing that I couldn't fit it in. No one seemed to mind though.

On Friday only 5 of my girls were there, 3 had left on vacation. They were so proud of their quilts (and the yarn octopus, LOL!) It was a great week. All of them asked me if we could do it again, maybe next summer ;-)

So I am guessing by the strange photo that the friends parents didn't want their girls photos on the internet? reminded me of that horrible movie the Ring. I will never watch that again. :-)

So, did you do it through your co-op or jsut for fun with Marlie and friend? I would love to do that....where did you get your ideas? That is so fun.

Karen, I did it myself, just for Marlie's friends. I got most of the ideas from the Family Fun magazine, a few came from their online site. We were supposed to sew, cook and craft everyday. But the last 3 few days I had to cut out the cooking because the quilt took longer and I wanted to be sure it was finished. I charged $30.00 per kid. I could have charged less if I didn't have Mason, but I had to pay a babysitter for him.
