T-13 days

School starts for us in 13 days. I'm excited and dreading it all at the same time! Bryce will be starting 9th grade at The Met high school http://sandiegomet.webs.com/ We are thrilled that he was blessed with a space in this high school. They are all about internship, responsibility, and college college, college. He's really excited about interviewing for an internship in October. JP will be able to drop him off everyday, and I"ll have to pick him up. It will be strange to have to pick up a kid from school every day. I've been totally spoiled to not ever have to do that!

We will be homeschooling Blake and Marlie with Dehesa charter school this year. Blake will have full day classes Mon. and Wed. Marlie has a full day of classes on Wed. I'm not 100% decided on everything that we are using but I have 95% decided.

It may seem like a lot, but they don't do everything every single day. Things like Explode the Code, Maps Charts and Graphs etc... I usually schedule 1-2 days a week.

And now for Mason. I've been working the past few weeks, cleaning out our garage to use it for school. We always have it set up as a kid hang out room, but it did have a bunch of extra stuff in there that took up space and wasn't necessary. I bought a bunch of new toys and manipulatives at garage sales over the summer, to keep him busy. I have 2 carpets for the ground (they were free!) That will give him a place to play with toys. I'm planning to put his Ikea table and chairs in there to give him a place to play playdoh and do crafts. Now if the weather would please cooperate so it's not in the 100's, we could actually do school in there, LOL! I'm not quite done with the clean out, so in a few days when I'm done, I'll post some pictures.

So there we go, school 2010-2011, here we come!!!!!!!!!!!

We are considering chaning our garage into a hangout, school room. We are going to wait until it cools off though. Thanks for the idea. Your workload does sound like a lot, but I do realize how things aren't done every day.
