Day 21 of chicken hatching

Today is day 21 of our chicken hatching project! We woke to the sounds of cheeping and peeping coming from our incubator. It was so exciting to hear them through the shell. The kids and I took turns running upstairs every 1/2 hour, to check for progress. Although most chickens hatch on day 21, it's sort of like pregnancy, they can come a little early or late.

At about 3:00pm I was upstairs sneaking a peek in the incubator, wondering if anything had happened yet, and I saw that one egg had pipped! I called the kids up to see they were so excited!
