Summer's on it's way

Oh how I love you summer time! Summer is a homeschooling moms best friend. It's when we get all of our big projects done. Or at least that's what my mommy taught me, LOL! I wasn't homeschooled, but my siblings (who are much younger than I am) were. Summer was when she tackled big stuff, like the year she painted the hallway, and all the hallway doors, or like the year she painted the bathroom. Hmm come to think of it I think all her big projects revolved around painting... But with 5 kids there was plenty that needed re-painting.

So it's my summer, the summer of 2010. I have a tentative list of what projects, large and small, I'd like to get done. If I can check off even just a few I'll be super happy.

1. Clean out school closet, put away all books in proper grade bin in garage

2. Re-paint door jams in hallway (yes I'm a copycat)

3. Plan and execute girls crafty weeklong day camp for Marlie's friends. I already have it halfway planned...

4. Have Marlie finish the quilt we started last summer (oops!)

5. Sew Marlie few "Laura Ingalls" type dresses. She's been bugging me for months.

6. Finish building the run for my chickens (actually this needs to get done in the next week or so)

7. Plan and actually go through with 2 scrapbooking nights a month with my gf's.

8. Yes it's a lofty notion, but high on my list for this summer is to see if I can't teach myself to play the flute. We have 2 flutes that belonged to JP's dad. I found a great teach yourself type book. I'm hoping I can muddle through it.

For now that's everything, but I'm certain I'll come up with a few more items for this list. Of course on top of all of this I can't wait to take the kids to the beach, several times a week and just sit there and watch the waves crash and my awesome kiddos play.

that's an ambitious list! My personal to do list is much more modest - like make the coffee and unload the dishwasher :)

Thanks for stopping by!
