Beauty with a promise

We've had such a crazy weather week. Monday was 110 degrees! It was completely unexpected, the week prior was chilly, and we were wearing pants. It was so hot, that one of our chickens died :-( Marlie was so sad, and I felt terrible. The rest of the week was humid, humid, humid. It rained on and off Thursday with amazing lightning and thunder storms. By the later evening the sky was filled with a mass of colorful clouds, and the most beautiful double rainbow I've ever seen.

I wish I had a wide angle lense, because you could see the full arch of one of the rainbows. It was amazing! Everytime I see a rainbow, I can't help but sing that little Bible song in my head about rainbows, "Rainbows over you, God's blessed love, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet." Such an beautiful sight.
