Christmas crafty #3

So I stole this super cute gift idea from a teenage girl at the church craft fair, LOL! She made these amazingly cute headbands with flowers on them. I thought, I could do that, so I did :-)

The headbands are flat stretchy ones. Don't get rounded stretchy headbands or they will roll right off your head. I bought Goody brand, 6 for $2 something at WalMart. The black flower was 2.99, at Michael's and the others came in a nice size bunch with 7 or 8 for only 4.99 (plus I had a coupon!) at Joannes. Joannes was definitely a better deal.

I've always wondered how you get the underneath part of the flower to lay nice on the headband, and I've figured it out! You pull the flower off of the stem, then pop the bottom green portion off the underneath side. Then you are left with a tiny green stem and several layers of silk flower, which come apart super easy. Take all the layers of flower apart, then hot glue them back together, that will hold them nicely without the little green knobby part on the back. Then cut what's left of the green stem off with scissors. Then hot glue the headband to the flower. Cut a small oval piece of felt and glue it over the part of the head band that's glued to the flower and voila' instant cute headband. I made a bunch of them for Marlie and her cousins, for Christmas. They are going to look so cute. It was cheap and easy. I intended to put up pictures of how to actually make them, but I ran out of time. If anyone wants pics just let me know.

Oh, and check out my little helper, isn't he cute?
