Inspection, windows and kitchen, Oh My!
Yesterday was our inspection, appraisal, window measurement appointment and kitchen measurement appointment. It was nuts! We arrived at the house at 8:30. The current renters introduced us to a neighbor. He was very friendly and told us all about the other neighbors and the activities that they do together. They have holiday parties! Quite different from our neighborhood hit and runs, LOL!!!
Anyway, the house was a mass of people, 1 inspector, 1 appraiser, 1 window guy, 1 kitchen guy, 2 realtors, my mom, one of my friends, our 4 kids, and JP and I. As if that wasn't enough, the gardeners showed up, HA! 16 people all running all around doing different things. I was supposed to be choosing paint colors, but it was so crazy, that I couldn't think straight. Instead I went thru the kid size bedrooms and decided who was going to be in which room.
Now I know that new windows are expensive, but I had *no* idea they were that expensive. Actually the windows aren't too bad, it's the 3 sliding doors that are the big expense. So we might pull 1 slider out, frame the opening smaller and use French doors instead, and take one other slider out and put a window in instead.
In all the excitement, I completely forgot to take pictures. I'll take pictures the next time we are over. Our realtor/lender is hoping we will close the 15th!!! That's not even a 30 day escrow! I won't believe it until I get the keys though, YIPPIE!
