Progress!!

JP and I have been homeowners for 18 days now. We've done quite a bit of work in 18 days, although sometimes it feels like we've hardly done anything (probably because there's so much left to do!)

The new downstairs closet has an opening (though a strange one, it was the only shape that would work with the existing plumbing under the stairs). The area where the built in is dry walled up nicely and just needs to be textured.

We now have electrical ran to the celings in every room. All the ceilings have little rectangualr holes randonly cut in them, so they could pull the wiring thru. JP and Jim have most of the popcorn ceiling scraped and textured. We had to rent a massive scaffold to scrape the vaulted ceilings in the living room and staircase. All that's left to scrape and texture is the dining room, family room and Bryce's room. Scraping ceilings makes a huge mess and it's everywhere! It's too bad that the carpets were already professionally cleaned, by the previous owners. It will probably need to be done again.

I was waffling on paint colors for several weeks. Last Monday JP said I had to have all the paint colors picked out and I need to get everything to the house by Tuesday morning! I was sooo not ready, so he said I had until Tuesday night LOL! The color in the middle is the west living room wall, the north and south walls are the color on the right. The yellow is from my kitchen in the Clairemont house and will go in the new house's kitchen too.

Mason and I were the talk of the paint departament at Home Depot. 39 gallons and one quart of paint is a lot to mix up!! It took them a mere 2 hours to do all the mixing. I picked paint colors from Restoration Hardware and had Home Depot mix them, it was much less expensive than the RH paint (and I had a coupon for $5 off each gallon of Behr paint!!) There were 2 paint reps in the paint dept and several Home Depot employees. They were all making googily faces at Mason, giving him stickers and stuff. The Behr representative actually gave Mason a Behr paint truck! He said we bought so much paint it was the least he could do, LOL!
