Overworked and underpaid

I'm so tired. There has been at least one sick person in this house since December 20th. It started with Mason right before Christmas. Pertussis. Blah, such a bummer. The bigs had already had it and it was baaad. I knew exactly what the pertussis cough sounded like. Luckily I had called my homeopath a few months earlier, and stockpiled the remedies for pertussis, just in case. Mason bounced back really quick, he was only sick about 2 weeks.

Then Bryce started coughing, he coughed 3 weeks before it was diagnosed as a gnarly sinus infection. Meanwhile, Blake started coughing too, but his cough took a different turn. He spiked fevers of 103 and was pale and lethargic. Pneumonia. Ugh. 3 weeks, 2 different types of antibiotics, bloodwork, 2 sets of chest x-rays, 5 doctors visits. He was so sick. Slowly slowly he started feeling better. After 4 weeks of being sick the dr said to get him out and moving so went on a quick trip to the beach. There he had a episode of cold water urticaria. He went into anaphylactic shock, and swelling of the hands and feet.

Then last week I got sick. Thankfully the fever and nasty cough didn't last long, moms don't have time to be sick you know! It's a good thing I bounced back fast, because this weekend Marlie spiked a high fever and developed the nasty cough, oh and so did JP. But you know who feels great? The 3 year old of course!! Arg!

So I'm feeling a bit overworked. Everyone is sick, no one has energy to help do much of anything around here but me, and the messy 3 year old. That means lots of extra work for mom. It's times like these that I just have to turn on my favorite Phil Wickham Pandora Station and keep moving. If I sit for long and think about how grumpy I am that all I have done is care for sick people, I'm not a nice lady! But God knows my weaknesses, and he knows my frustrations.

Isa 40:29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Oh, Kelly, how tough! I pray that your family makes a turn for the better, and the illnesses depart. And I also pray for your continued strength to endure, and moments of grace throughout your day.

Okay, incorrect grammar in my last post - I just can't leave it that way being a homeschooler and all.....so let me rephrase it....ahem.....I wish I WAS there to bring you dinner. I was/ you were/ h,s,i was/ we were/ y'all were/ they were. I stand corrected! ;)
