Merry Christmas!
Our first Christmas in our new house was awesome! We had 27 people for Christmas dinner, our biggest crowd yet! We had out of town family, and friends over too. As promised, JP delivered the secret family salsa, much to every ones delight! The carne asada, tamales and enchiladas were so yummy, (thank heavens for leftovers!!) JP finished the "youth room" in the garage, and the drum set and Christmas Wii were a big hit! Our family talent show was hilarious. Blake wowed us with magic. Nana and my sisters rapped a "sports girls" rap. Paige and Kassidy played the piano. Claire and Lucy danced. Bryce played the piano while Marlie sang. JP showed off his art. I tap danced. Nana did the hula. I think everyone had a great time, and I was already hearing chorus's of "next year I'm going to...."
The day after Christmas we spent several hours at the beach with the Berggrens. Low tide was really really low, it must have been a negative tide. The kids had so much fun scouring the beach for shells and little creatures. The seals at the children's pool delighted the out of town girls. Marlie made friends with complete strangers (nothing new there) and ran through a sand labyrinth they had made.
We celebrated Marlie's birthday that night at Nana's house, then hugged everyone goodbye and came home and crashed. It was a great, Christmas holiday.
